Wet West Film Festival entries flow in! PDF Print E-mail

Just three weeks after the first call for film entries, the Wet West Film Festival Directors are happy to report they have 10 hours of entries already. Director Dave Kwant says “Entries are many and varied, and range in origin from Alaska to Antarctica, Maui to Iran. The mail bag arrives and surprises us each day!”

The Wet West Film Festival is an international, competitive film festival, to be screened in Hokitika, with water as its theme, mixed liberally with the outdoors and stirred by adventure!

With entries open until 15 November, and such a good start, the three days of the Wet West Film Festival on 7 – 9 January will be high entertainment, high energy sessions, with enough adventure and stories to last the year. TV1 Producer of Adventure Guide Series, Tony Burrows says, “It’s neat basing the Festival on water, it allows films to be based on the environment or on the high adventure, entertainment end. Both are great subject areas for Film.”

Entries are being accepted for another month. Anyone interested in entering a film or purchasing tickets for the Festival should visit www.wetwestfilmfest.com today, or phone Westland District Council on 03 755 8321. Hokitika looks forward to welcoming fans of all aspects of water, from snow skiers to water skiers and divers to windsurfers.
