The Wet West Film Festival is an international, competitive film festival, to be screened in Hokitika, with water as its theme, mixed liberally with the outdoors and stirred by adventure! The Wet West Film Festival will create an exciting event for international film makers, as well as amateur first time enthusiasts, and is currently calling for film entries around any aspect of the watery theme. Think laterally: there’s snow, ice, sea, lakes, rivers, sea, rain – all sorts of connections! The Wet West Film Festival is a world first in its aim to celebrate water, its power and energy in many settings and water’s place in the outdoors. Hokitika plays perfect host, naturally surrounded by wild sea, world class rivers, internationally acclaimed glaciers with a backdrop of the snow covered Southern Alps to complete the water, ice and snow capped environment. Then of course, there’s the odd shower of rain! This new, exciting event will take place in New Zealand’s water capital, Hokitika, from 7th – 9th January 2005. Create your own splash – make a film now on DVD format and enter! The Wet West Film Festival will screen entries selected from all entries being received now, until 15 November. Entry forms are available now from the website www.wetwestfilmfest.com or by phoning Westland District Council on 03 755 8321
